 Dear Friends of IHOP-KC,

Since this past Sunday (Nov 23rd), when Mike Bickle preached on the Book of Revelation, our IHOP-KC Missions Base has been set aflame with zeal to read and understand Revelation as the End-Time canonized prayer manual for the Church.

We don’t want you to miss out on this, so we included a link for you to watch the video recording of this past Sunday’s message.

Here are a few quotes from different leaders from the IHOP-KC Missions Base about this message and the effect it has had on our community:
“This past Sunday, Mike Bickle preached a simple, yet profound message on the Book of Revelation. He presented a new paradigm of Revelation as Jesus’ End-Time battle plan and the prayer manual of the Church. This word set forth clear strategies to engage in the “eschatological revolution” that is already rumbling on the horizon of human history. This message has already had a dramatic impact on IHOP–KC. Be sure to watch it and tell your friends about it.”
        - Misty Edwards, IHOP-KC Worship Leader
“For nearly 10 years, our community here in Kansas City has given themselves to study the Book of Revelation. On Sunday, Mike Bickle challenged all 3,000 people in our community to plumb line their hearts again with this forerunner mandate and understand Jesus’ End-Time battle plan given in the Book of Revelation. As the Associate Director of IHOP-KC, I have never seen a time where our zeal was so renewed with sobriety. Watch this message and let your heart be ignited to prepare for this urgent hour.”
- Allen Hood, Associate Director of IHOP
“For many, the Book of Revelation has been overly-mystified and relegated to the place of irrelevance. Yet, Mike Bickle, through this powerful message, has catapulted the Book of Revelation to its appropriate place of preeminence as the “canonized prayer manual” for the End-Time Church that will partner with Jesus in releasing His justice and mercy. It is the infallible script from which the praying Church takes direction as the drama of human history unfolds to usher in the age-to-come. Be sure to watch this message that has rocked our community.”

Last July when I was visiting Hyderabad India while on a business trip I met a gentleman named Anand.  He is the director of YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Hyderabad.  I posted two videos I took while I was with him, here and here.

Recently he informed me of a very serious situation taking place in the nearby state of Orissa where Christians are being persecuted and martyred.  I wanted to get the back story on the situation and here is what I he said.  He sent this to me on September 4th.

Disclaimer: He wrote this directly to me in an email and it wasn’t intended for the purpose of me posting it.

“Thank you for your fervent prayers for Orissa.  it started on 25 August 2008, the entire state was called to a halt and a protest (bandh).  Early last morning, several of the people went to pray in a church in Bhubaneshwar (the capital of Orissa).  Police were guarding the church.  The whole day one of our prayer partner saw frenzy mobs burning, looting and shouting slogans against Christians as they rode around the city on their bikes, cars and trucks.

The violence in December 2007 effected only one district but this one is spread all over Orissa.  It is said that over one thousand Christians’ houses have been burnt in the rural areas, the people have fled to the mountains and forests.  Over a hundred churches or prayer halls have been destroyed.  So far we do not know how many have been burnt or killed.

So it is started happen from 10 days back onwards (from 25th Aug 2008). It is  latest news. Please pray for this situation. because it is started one of the main Hindu leader has been killed by Naxalites or underground people, they suspect about Christians and this bad to them the moist people confessed that they have killed the Hindu leader.”

Then last Saturday the 13th Anand sent me an update from a brother named Divakaran:

“Nineteen days ago the brutal killing of Christians began in one of the districts in Orissa.

· The trouble has now spilled over to fourteen districts.

· This has now effected 1100 villages.

· 18,000 Christian families been attacked.

· 78,000 people been displaced, including 13,000 in relief camps.

· 36,000 been injured

· 100 or more have been killed or burned to death.

The militant outfit has been distributing leaflets, in the troubled area asking people to kill prominent Christian leaders. A list of names been mentioned. This is what it says, “There is no place for Christians in Orissa.  If Christians don’t become Hindus they have to go. They must leave Orissa or face death”.

We hear stories like:

  • “I will die, but I won’t stop being a Christian”, said Narmada, a Christian lady. It is a simple bond that no human wrath can sever a woman and her God.
  • Dibyasunder, 38 year old pastor was returning home after preaching in a church on the 24th of Aug.  He was asked to deny his faith but he refused. He was killed in front of the other Christians in that village.
  • Vijaya Pradhan, 35 years old, is now hiding some where in the thick forest along with the other Christians. He was a member of the RSS, the militant outfit, for 8 years.  He wonderfully came to the Lord on the 26th January 1994. God is at work. Pray for many others like him to stand firm for their faith.

Re-conversion:

People have been dragged to the Hindu temple for conversion to Hinduism, or face death.

With a coconut in one hand and an Oriya Bible in the other, they are forced to say, “I swear that I have become a Hindu today .If I ever become a Christian again may my clan perish”. Then they break the coconut and burn the Bible or they will be killed.

The police and the state government authorities are mere bystanders as the rioter’s rampage village after village.  Looting, killing, raping, and burning homes still goes on.  The media is biased and no one is allowed in that area as the roads are blocked with tree trunks and boulders.  Sad, such things are happening in a free democratic India. The state government is hand in glove with the militants.

Please write to President, Prime minister of India.

Write to your MPs, Governors, Senators, Congressmen and other Human rights organizations and plead for immediate intervention.

With a heavy heart,

Divakaran”

I am proud to be associated with these persecuted saints.  They are my brothers and sisters.  Please pray for their protection and that the Holy Spirit would be loosed in that region and Revival would break out.
