Earlier this week when Sarah Palin was talking about how she grew up in a town she said “A writer observed: ‘We grow good people in our small towns, with honesty, sincerity, and dignity.’ I know just the kind of people that writer had in mind when he praised Harry Truman.”
I thought that was kinda cool because we live in the very small town Hary Truman grew up in. Yeah, I know it’s kinda corny but I still think it’s cool.

Since moving to Missouri back in March we continue to be amazed at how much wildlife there is here. Moving from Western Washington this was a huge supprise to us. We’ve blogged about it at our old blog location at http://thexblog.spaces.live.com when we showed you pictures of the bird’s nest we had very close to the ground in our backyard. We also have Cardinals, Bluejays and rabbits in our yard, plus deer very nearby. As a matter of fact rarely a day goes by when we don’t drive by deer very close to us and our home. Two months ago a fawn deer “hung out” in my in-laws backyard up the street from us for many hours before being scared off by another animal. This has all been a huge blessing to us and to our boys.
Our latest yard discovery was found by our friend Joel who is down from Seattle to paint our home. He found this Missouri Box Turtle near one of the gutter down spouts in our front yard. Here is some video of our little shelled friend.
